Lance J. Graff, age 48, of Fargo, ND, died unexpectedly at his home on September 6, 2022, due to health complications.
Lance was born on November 2, 1973 in Fergus Falls, MN, to Myron and Deb (Stenstron) Graff. He was baptized at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He attended Fergus Falls Public School where he enjoyed wresting. “One” of his favorite things to do was to read books, with Stephen King being his favorite author.
Lance met the love of his life, Lois Dahl, and the couple went into the Job Corps in Montana where Lance learned the trade of auto mechanics. After completing their education, the couple moved to Moorhead. On November 21, 1994, Lance married the love of his life, Lois (Dahl) Graff. Shortly thereafter, they welcomed the first of six children: Cassandra, Patience, Joey, Cadence, Gauge, and Chance. Lance was a talented mechanic, and worked at various shops including Truckers Inn, Pilot Flying J Truck Care, and most recently, Dirt Dynamics.
If you knew Lance in his early years, you may remember his signature look of his slicked back black hair which gave him the nickname, “Slick”. He loved looking in the mirror at himself and singing “I’m so pretty, oh so pretty”. He was “the funniest guy he knew”! He was a prankster and loved pulling jokes on people. He will be remembered for his booming laugh, friendly personality, and of course, his famous smirk. He was also a very big-hearted, loving man who shared his joy with friends and loved ones.
Lance is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Lois and their six children, Cassandra, Patience (Kinkaid), Joey, Cadence, Gauge, and Chance Graff; parents, Myron and Deb Graff; sister, Kelli Graff (Darrin) and their children, Kailey, Easton, and Presley; and sister, Nicole (Justin) Smith and their children, Hope, Danica, Cason, and Brison; grandmother, Betty Graff. He was also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Lance was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Gene and Doris Stenstron; paternal grandfather, Clyde Graff; and father and mother-in-law, David and Doris Dahl.
He will be truly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 9, 2022, at the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Twin Valley, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Jevnaker Lutheran Cemetery, rural Borup, MN.
