Carol Mavis, 93, was born in March 1929 and passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, in September 2022. She graduated from Underwood High School and married the love of her life, Wesley Mavis in 1949. They raised a family and were very active in Faith Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. They moved to Seattle, WA and continued to raise their family where they were devout members of Trinity Lutheran Church. Carol also enjoyed working in the jewelry business for 16 years. She loved gardening and lovingly filled their beautiful yard with flowers. An excellent cook and baker, Carol especially enjoyed making all of the special Norwegian cookies and pastries at Christmas.
Carol & Wesley loved to dance and were married for 64 wonderful years. She was a devoted wife and mother and never missed a sporting event or concert for their children or grandchildren. Carol is survived by their children Craig, Janice and Kevin and four grandsons who she adored. She is also survived by her best friend of over 90 years, Marilyn Schmidtke.
A funeral service was held at Floral Hills “Purdy Walters” Chapel to honor Carol. Beloved cousins Julie Swanson and Darla Miller from Minnesota, attended the service that made it extra special. We will love and miss her and always carry her in our hearts.
