Agnes Jorgenson, 80, of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Broen Home, Fergus Falls, Minnesota
Agnes Esther Jorgenson was born December 2, 1935 in Girard Township to Cecil and Anna (Orso) Kimber. She attended country school at District 152 through 8th grade. She then attended Henning High School. She worked for Finke family, Hendricks family and Filmore Trites family before moving to Fergus Falls. She worked at the bus depot restaurant until she married Rodney Jorgenson on August 12, 1956. She also worked at Lake Region Hospital kitchen until 1965. They were blessed with three children, Donavan, Brenda and Nadine.
She enjoyed spending summers at the farm, gardening and time with her family. Agnes was an important part of the DAVA (Disabled American Veterans Association) where she served in both the state and local chapters. Agnes was also one of the founding members of the Veteran’s Council for Otter Tail County. She was also on the designated committee at the Veteran’s home in Fergus Falls. Agnes enjoyed helping in the community, she delivered meals on wheels for several years and also taught Sunday School at First Lutheran. She loved taking family vacations, which included traveling to Texas to visit her brother and the annual family trip to Paul Bunyan; it was the highlight of every Summer for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren alike. On any Holiday you would likely find her celebrating with family.
She is survived by her children Donavan (Rhonda) Jorgenson of Henning, and Nadine Leabch of Fergus Falls; son-in-law Joe Kimber of Elbow Lake; grandchildren John (Jess), Travis-TK (Kayleen), Melissa (Dale), Kandi, Alexis (Jason), Michelle, Michael Paul and Patsy (Clayton); great-grandchildren Dominique, Damian, Jorden, Chrisob, Tiarra, Gracei, Xavier, Zachariah, Tanner, Kyrie, Cailynn, Lane, Annabelle, Alison and Odin; brother Clarence (Agnes) Kimber, sister Barbara Howard, and a host of many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Rodney, daughter Brenda, son-in-law Michael Leabch, sister, Bernice, two brothers-in-law John Howard and Gene Jorgenson, a niece, Lori Kimber, a nephew, Jeffrey Howard; great-granddaughter Isabelle and several other great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services: 2pm, Thursday, April 7, 2016 at First Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls with visitation one hour prior to the service
