Carol A. Hanson

Carol Ann Hanson, 72, of Fergus Falls, died Friday, October 28, 2016, at ManorCare in Fargo, ND.
Carol was born on January 16, 1944, in Fergus Falls to Victor and Lillian (Husfledt) Saurer. She attended school in Elizabeth, MN through 6th grade, Big Falls, MN for 7th and 8th grade and Little Fork, MN for 9th and 10th grade.
On January 20, 1973, Carol married LeRoy Alvin Hanson at Augustana Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, MN. She was a devoted paper lady, delivering for the Daily Journal for twenty years and The Midweek for fifteen years.
Carol was a member of the Fergus Falls V.F.W. Auxiliary and Senior Center. She loved gardening, flowers, canning, crossword puzzles and what she loved the most was playing cards with her friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Lillian Saurer; her husband, LeRoy Alvin Hanson; and three brothers, Rudolph Saurer, Harland Saurer and Wesley Saurer.
Survived by her three sons, BenHarry Victor Hanson, Cory Douglas (Teanna) Hanson and Joshua Russell Hanson, all of Fergus Falls; five stepchildren, Greg (Diane) Hanson of Fergus Falls, Wayne (LaVerne Dunlap) Hanson, Jeannie (Mike) Nikle and Sharon (William Mutscher) Hanson, all of Grand Forks, ND, and Karen (Bruce) Christiansen of Kalispell, MT; three grandchildren, Brianna Barbara Hanson and Austin Robert Beaton, both of Fargo, and Kylie Marie Hanson of Evansville; one step-grandchild, Landon Lee Anderson of Fergus Falls; three brothers, Kenneth (Sue) Saurer of Clitherall, Russell (Kathy) Saurer of Elizabeth and Melvin Saurer of Clarissa; three sisters, Betty (Aloys) Woida of Eagle Bend, Eunice (George) Woida of Urbank and Loraine (Steven) Martineau of Elbow Lake; two sisters-in-law, K. Saurer of Hale, MI and Alisha Saurer of Temecula, CA; extended family, Evelyn Johnson of Grand Forks, ND;  and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
Service: 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, MN.
Clergy: Reverend Jennifer Rose
Interment: A private family burial will take place at a later date at Knollwood Memorial Gardens in Fergus Falls, MN.
