Preceded in death by her husband Ervin, son Gordon, grandson Nathan, parents Ignatius and Elsie Salo, and brothers: Marvin, Leroy, Sherman, and Donald.

Survived by daughter Erveen (David) Matson, grandchildren Cathlin (Shawn) Sandler and Brian (Katherine Robertson) Matson. Sisters: Darlene, Myrtis, and Myrna.  Brothers: James, Ronald, Mervil, Calvin, and Gary.  Brothers and Sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Phyllis farmed in Leaf Lake Township with her husband Ervin for over thirty years.  Later she moved to New York Mills and then Perham.

Phyllis worked in housekeeping at the New York Mills Hospital for fifteen years followed by fifteen years in housekeeping at the New York Mills Elders Home.

After retirement she split her time between Minnesota and California and was fortunate to do a lot of traveling with her companion of thirty years, Marvin Hanka.  Phyllis loved gardening, crocheting and watching the sunsets at Rush Lake and Thousand Palms.
